What is a Screw Press ?

A screw press, also known as an expeller, is a machine that uses mechanical methods to extract a fluid, typically vegetable oil or fat from a solid feed material such as seeds, nuts or animal by-products.

Mechanical extraction is an 'organic' process and a completely " chemical free" extraction process

The basic principal of all screw presses or expellers is that of a decreasing volume Archimedean screw, contained within a drained barrel.

A mass of material is transported along the machine by the Archimedean screw, as the material moves forwards the volume in which it is contained is progressively reduced.

This reducing volume applies pressure that expels the fluid from the feed material.

As the fluid is expelled from the solid material it flows through the drained Barrel to be collected.

The remaining solid material in the form of a dry cake is collected at the discharge end of the press

It's as easy as that......  Well almost!!
